RESN'S MINUIT WEBSITE HONORED AT WEBBY’S AND TAKES OUT SXSW AWARD


The 12th Annual International Webby Awards have recognized Wellington based interactive company Resn for their website Minuit.co.nz as an Official Honoree in the music websites category. Minuit was named along side of ten other websites developed by multinational companies such as MTV Networks, British Telecom & Microsoft MSN.
The Webby Awards received a record number of entries with more than 10,000 submissions. The judging panel included celebrities such as David Bowie, Richard Branson, Beck, Harvey Weinstein, Matt Groening, Jamie Oliver and internet co-inventor Vint Cerf.
Resn also took home the SXSW Web Award in the Best Music Website category at the 11th annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Web Awards for their work on www.minuit.co.nz. Minuit (min-wee), the Kiwi band with the French name is a high energy, enigmatic recent arrival on the international music scene. The SXSW Web Awards honors top web developers and designers chosen from entries submitted across the world.
“It is extremely exciting to see Minuit’s website continue to gain accolades from around the world. We have won three industry-defining awards, a Webby Honoree, The FWA award and SXSW! This really shows what a world-class talented bunch of creative people we have working for us here at Resn,” says Rikki Campbell the Creative Director of Resn.
Says Minuit’s Manager, Paul Dodge: “The success of our website is really helping Minuit introduce new audiences to our music in some far off places. We’re very proud that it continues to thrill the world’s web community.”
Resn Creative were the first New Zealand based company to win an FWA Site of the Day award, the first New Zealand company to win at SXSW and also first to be honored in the music category at the Webby’s. Past winners of the FWA have been some of the most influential web development firms and advertising agencies in the World including Big Spaceship, Group 94 and North Kingdom. Minuit’s website has already won the 2007 Pixel Awards - Music category and was also awarded Runner Up for Pixels Awards Best in Show. The website won bronze at the Designers Institute of New Zealand 2007 Best Awards Interactive Category.
Apart from their traditional big brand clients, Resn Creative has created websites for some of New Zealand’s top music acts including The Black Seeds, Liam Finn and Luke Buda. These sites have been hugely successful with The Black Seeds (www.theblackseeds.com) website being nominated for the coveted SXSW Web Awards 2007 Music Category and Liam Finn (www.liamfinn.co.nz) receiving over 750 000 visitors to his viral music game.

Again - Someone forgot to mention that The Warehouse Careers site by TribalDDB New Zealand got a Webby nominee.

However congratulations on the nominee Tribal.

And yes 10:23 works @ DDB (Maybe Tribal DDB) and I am an ex employee.

Salted Herring were apparently from Holland when they won their FWA awards. Are they NZ based now?
