No surprise there surely? Everyone in the industry knows that the agency whose CD does the AXIS Convenor of Judges gig is the agency that ALWAYS does best. The current Convenor has complained more about that particular AXIS phenomenon than anyone else.

9:47's observations are the sad frigging truth. What a shame because if any of the ads up for awards were really deserving of merit, they have been stained by this mysterious 'Convenor of Judges' phenomenon. Surely that's the only reason this phenomenon's most vocal critic is now right in the thick of it. Yep, if you can't beat em...

I'd be fuming a bit if I was Clems. They're a great agency doing honest and great work and they end up with 8 finalists. What a slap in the face. How many other agencies in NZ have a Titanium lion in their cabinet..? hmmm. None.
Stay out of Axis again next year Clems until Caanz can iron out all the nuances..

World Press Photos which won Titanium at Cannes for Clems was eligible for last year's Axis, not this year's. Last year was a bad time to pull out of Axis for Clems.

For the first time Axis has an overseas jury so no one can influence the outcome.

So what are you saying 1:48? That every other convenor influeced the outcome? Wonder how they're gonna feel about that? Hope you're not the current Convenor making that particular comment.

BTW, there's always been an overseas Head of Judges, so how the hell does does this year stack up to be any different to the last?

That's the point 10:04. You're inadvertently announcing yourself the winner before we're meant to know you've won. Makes you look like a bunch of small shiny nobs, nob.

Things must be improving at DDB , in my day the door to the roof was always locked to stop the creatives throwing suits into Myers Park....

ha ha ha too funny 1:29 yeah I worked there for a while and never discovered this roof spot. I used to like watching strangers make out or go at it in the park though... the building almost tipped with everyone rushing to the park side for a nosy.
hhhmmmmmmm there's an idea in that....
The awards aren't rigged if you've ever been to a judging session you would see it is pretty legit. Stop ya moaning.

It was not just in the park - the publishing rights to the night cleaners log book must be wort a fortune. Rumour has it a junior suit that got the 'DCM' (dont come monday , to you wankers who have been in a time capsule) ripped out some very damaging pages & still has them. Maybe thats why there are so many greying males there......

Heard the Wellington guy who runs their DM sweat shop is outta' there already. Bet the greying males have gone totally grey with that bit of news.

Last year Colenso's CD was the convenor of judges, but they didn't end up with the most finalists.

That is correct, but it was the first time in years that it happened. Probably more indicative of Colenso having a very, very thin year.

But check out other years 8.08. Or ask the current Convenor...if you can't beat them...

Hi 5.35pm, I'm the guy leaving Rapp in Wellington, but I didn't run it, I was a writer. And it was pretty rare for any of us to break a sweat, the place is tight, so I dunno where you got your sweatshop shit from. Maybe someone who didn't get the job they wanted?

They're a top crew, maybe one day you'll get to work in one and understand, till then, hey, just keep on posting shit on here, I'm sure it's doing wonders for your career.

You can only last so long in that building before you wake up and smell the cheese. Yeah that cheese stinks.
