Sticking to their knitting

New from Saatchis with animation by Kaleidoscope. Can't say we've heard of the client before, but very nicely done.

Great Ad.Does it promote the merits of written communication over the telephonic? Best not tell Saatchi's telecommunication client they are being undermined,'cause they had such a bad week already.

I love it.

I want to marry it.

even if it doesn't have the catchy tune.

that's right, even.

And I want to buy the jersey.

It reminds me of the Walkie Talkie man music video clip.

It's funny and I like it a lot.

Choose one is not Len Cheeseman's 'style'

There are lots of films made by designers that use this technique.

Perhaps the most beautiful is the new clip from Gnarles Barkley.

Check it out - it's fucking amazing.

That 60's ad... has that actually aired? The expo's been on for quite a while now - can't say I've seen the ad yet.

Can the twats referencing Steriogram shut the fuck up. Yes, it does feature wool, so you do get a pat on your overly large foreheads, however a closer point of reference would be "Hate Something" in terms of a fluent animational story combined with a compelling audio track. However, it is different, and features a different idea. For those of you struggling to understand that idea I might recommend, nah fuck it, you'll never quite get it. Just go back to your "Life Goes On" videos and dreams of mainstreaming.

world class. not sure whether it's a sound strategy as apart from adrian mole as fuck all people will actually write to a chick they wanna root but who cares, this is great.

As an impartial observer I thought it was great.
Great looking, nice script, one small thing... the voice artists were a bit shit weren't they..

Given the international creative roster I'm sure they're quite conscious of getting the accents right.

That must be how Kiwis sound.

Stink bro.

Lovely stuff. Why can't they do ads like that for me?

5:17 has a point. It's flawed because even if he did write, she wouldn't have clicked it was the guy from accounts.

But yes, it looks nice, that's about it.

Check out campaign brief's blog on this ad. It's a lot nastier than the comments written here. Not sure which thread I agree with more. I do love it, and kudos must go to Kaleidoscope, but it does reek of scammage. Worse than 'bug jeans.'

9:14 am NZST

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah... whatever happened to "Bug Jeans"? That was truly a low point. I think more people saw the plane 'crash' into the pentagon.

Why does it all end on "write her a letter" when the ad is for a bureau of freelance business writers? Is Kevin meant to brief out his letter? What the fuck would they give him back?

Nice work by Kaleidescope.

Of course, no matter how may letters the guy writes he wouldn't get a date with that bird because he's a stupid sweater-wearing loser. So....

I does look very, very good though.

I bet he get's a better girl.

Who likes his Jersey.

And can quote Revenge of the Nerds.

And doesn't have as many diseases as the syphilitic whore on the other end of the phone.

Then again, maybe his poetic letter styles would woo her, she'd realise his jersey is a charming quirk and she is wasting her life on superficial insecure ad-wanker types who run down anything they don't understand.

People who don't understand the craft that goes into a jersey and dress so similar it becomes a uniform.

Then the syphilitic whore would give him diseases.

I think that's some very good writing, as compelling and crafted as the visuals.
