Blood ads ineligible

Interested to read today that the MPA and CAANZ agreed any ads appearing in Blood would be ineligible for competition. Despite the fact they missed the Axis cut-off anyway. Hmmmm. Did this ruin anyone's day?

And does this make them ineligible for international consideration as well?

It appeared to us casual observers that some of these were only there for that purpose as they were quite addy ads we've really only seen in Campaign Brief to date.

Comments?

Can that pic of AB and his 'posse' doing the fingers to the camera still be entered in the self promotional section?

For those of us who were actually WORKING when the launch happened on Monday - where can we get a copy of the magazine?

Good question - understand only (only) 4k were printed and many of those are destined for overeas. Maybe AB or the MPA could enlighten bloggers...

One of the things that disappointed me was the dodginess of the art direction... why were the nissan logos on the first dps all pixelated? It looked to me like they were clear-cut badly on the creatives mac. I know cos thats what my mock-ups look like when i present an idea to client. Not what it looks like after it comes out of studio. Whether an ad is, in principle, a scam or not it shouldn't it always pass for the real deal. If an ideas worth doing and all that...

Over to you Whybins.

Copies of Blood are being mailed out to creative directors and magazine industry reps early next week.

Anyone else who wants a copy should just email me on julian@jonespublishing.co.nz and I'll get one off to you.

And ask Julian for a copy of his magazine, the one he did when he was about 10. Apparently a good read.

What was interesting about the Blood launch was Andy's referring to the sauce sachet as 'the best idea he'd ever seen.' Eh?! He obviously meant the best ADVERTISING idea, but what was implied was that the only real ideas are advertising ideas.
I'm sure Voltaire, Michael Jackson, Einstein, Chomsky, Socrates, Edison, Bell, Damian Hirst, the Tetra-Pak guy and heaps of other creative geniuses would love to give YOU the fingers buddy.
