This year you rilly don't want to mess with NZ girls

The rumours are true, the nzgirl team will be attempting to emulate the
success of last year's Cannes Gold, Axis Best in Show winning, stunt of
last year at the Big Day Out.

It is suggested that BDO attendees look to the skies at around 3
o'clock.

Any queries to Jenene Crossan

Sounds like a counter-ambient attack opportunity for a blokey brand...

I don't think anyone needs to wade in to support J C because nothing bad has been said about her.

If you can't see the irony in the comment about a 'cavernous vagina' (which I'm sure she can) in response to 'such and such has a small dick' then go read some kids' books. There's nice stuff in there.

Also why does everyone assume that because you say something funny/controversial, it automatically means you haven't won any awards? What a crock!

Sometime we all fuck up our stunts. Even the most cunning ones.

My mate said the choppa was going around the outside of the Big Day Out with a freaked-out naked guy hanging under it. Then it suddenly just took off and disapeared behind some buildings. Don't know anything else apart from that. Apparently DDB have been told not to talk about it. So what the fuck happened?

It's way worse than that. I heard from a good source that they dropped him on a fence and he ended up with seventeen stitches. Those guys are going down for this one.

From The Independent:

Adlib
When stunts go really, really bad
A publicity stunt promotion at Auckland's Big Day Out for website nzgirl may have picked up the top gong for DDB at last year's AXIS advertising awards, but there's little praise for this year's effort. Instead, lawsuits would seem more likely.

nzgirl website users were encouraged to entice their cheating boyfriends to the Big Day Out and told to watch the sky at a certain time.

An unfortunate boyfriend is reported to have been grabbed, stripped and tied to a harness on a cable strung under a helicopter to be carried around the sky and, presumably, horribly humiliated. But things turned really, really ugly when the unfortunate victim was lifted into the air.

Unsurprisingly, the boyfriend struggled "quite a lot," according to one eyewitness.

He slipped out of the harness and fell some 10 feet onto a fence. He suffered injuries and required stitches. The stunt was promptly cancelled.

DDB creative chief Paul Catmur, who was on hand, was "visibly shaken," according to one eyewitness.

It is believed DDB staffers were told if they talked about the failed stunt, they would be shown the door.

With possible claims of kidnap, public humiliation and injury on the agenda - it couldn't have got much worse - unless of course the struggling victim had slipped out of the harness at a thousand feet.

nzgirl founder Jenene Crossan told Ad Lib she "couldn't possibly comment" when questioned about the stunt.

and yes, stunts do go wrong, but stupid stunts are just asking for trouble.
